Nevada County Election Results: Primary 2026
The California Primary Election wrapped up at 8:00 p.m. on June 2, 2026. While there were many statewide offices on the ballot, Nevada County also saw several local offices on the ballot, both county-wide and specific to a city or district.
Unopposed candidates
Candidates who ran unopposed include County Superior Court Judges (Alissa L. Bjerkhoel and Courtney C. Abril), County Assessor (Rolf Kleinhans), County Auditor-Controller (Sal Alberti), County Supervisor, District 3 (Lisa Swarthout), County Supervisor, District 4 (Sue Hoek), County Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters (Armando Salud-Ambriz), and County Treasurer-Tax Collector (Shauneen J. Gracey).
The incumbent, Gayle Garbolino-Mojica, also ran unopposed for the Placer County Superintendent of Schools. Although this office covers mostly Placer County, this office also represents a small part of Nevada County because some voters live within district territories that are tied to Placer County’s educational governance and elections, specifically the Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District, which serves students in Nevada County, Placer County, and El Dorado County.

Statewide Election Results
As of June 2, the top candidates were (statewide results):
Governor of California
At 8:10pm, the top candidates were Hilton (30.2%), Becerra (22.1%), Bianco (18.8%), and Steyer (15.6%).
By 8:20pm, Hilton (27.7%), Becerra (24.9%), Steyer (18.5%), and Bianco (13.6%) were still at the top.
By midnight, Hilton was still in the lead with almost the same percentage (27.6%), ahead of Becerra (25.5%), Steyer (19.6%), and Bianco (11.3%).
While the percentages are constantly being updated, we see some candidates clearly rising to the top, especially in races like the governor race where there is an entire page worth of candidates.
Lieutenant Governor: Gloria Romero, Fiona Ma, and Josh Fryday are at the top so far.
Congress
District 3
Also important to Nevada County, with two candidates (Robb Tucker and Heidi Hall) from Nevada County running for this office:
As of midnight on 6/2, Robb Tucker (34%) and Ami Bera (33%) are the top vote getters so far, with others trailing significantly behind.
Christine Bish votes serve to split the Republican vote from achieving 51% majority, and Heidi Hall serves that same purpose of keeping a Democrat candidate from achieving a majority.
District 4
As of midnight on 6/2, Jaron Brandon (39.4%), Marie Alvarado-Gil (28.2%), Alexandra Duarte (32.4%). It seems that the primary will likely be removing a Republican from the list, resulting in a two-party race for November.
Another update should be available by 6/5. This page will not be updated, but rather you are encouraged to view ongoing results on official sites:
The Nevada County Elections Office is continuing to update elections results online.
State results are continuously being updated as well.
Outside of Nevada County, there are some high-profile elections going on, including the race for mayor of L.A. So far, election results show Karen Bass in the lead (36%), with Spencer Pratt (29%) likely joining her in the November run off. Nithya Raman is a close third (22%).
